ZULU WAR HELMET A faithful copy of the famous Zulu War helmet as worn by the 24th Regiment of Foot, who fought so valiantly at Isandlhwana and Rorkes Drift. The body is covered with white fabric (green on the inside). During the Zulu war, the helmet was worn both with and without the regimental plates shown below. If you purchase a plate at the same time as a helmet, we will mount it for you free of charge (in fact, if you don’t want it mounted, be sure to let us know). no longer available

All of these helmets have
a modern Velcro adjustable headband
to ensure a perfect fit for sizes from 6½ to 7¾.

OFFICER’S GILT AND SILVER HELMET PLATE The Queen's officers always went first class, and this plate has the beautiful matte and bright gold finish found on the finest Victorian examples, with a silvered sphinx below the numbers.

NCO’S GILT HELMET PLATE The same matte and bright gold finish as the officer's, but without the silver sphinx. Gilt plates are more attractive than brass, and never need to be polished. no longer available

	WHITE TROPICAL SERVICE HELMET This is the classic "Gunga Din" style helmet, used by the British army on colonial service throughout the Empire, from 1875 to 1900. Covered with white cloth and lined with green, complete with wrap-around pleated white puggari and adjustable brown leather chin strap. Adjustable size. no longer available
	KHAKI TROPICAL SERVICE HELMET The khaki version of the white helmet described above, made famous by the "gentlemen in khaki" during the Boer War. Complete with wrap-around pleated khaki puggari and adjustable brown leather chinstrap. Adjustable size. Image of inside no longer available
	WHITE "WOLSELEY" STYLE TROPICAL SERVICE HELMET This design offered better protection from the sun, and began to replace the earlier model in 1901. It continued in use through the Gallipoli and Middle East campaigns of World War I, and could still be seen in rear areas during World War II. It is still worn today as a dress helmet by the Royal Marines. Image of inside no longer available
